Year 7 afternoon with author and mathemagician, Kjartan Poskitt
On Wednesday 26th April, year 7 students were treated to an afternoon with Kjartan Poskitt, author of the Murderous Maths books. He entertained them with all manner of maths ‘magic’ in an engaging and interactive way. This is what some of the students had to say:
“This man is amazing, funny and clever all in one! I would watch it all over again!” Jessica Ross, 7GC.
“It was SO FUN! I would recommend it again.” Sebastian Jackson, 7BA.
“I couldn’t stop laughing. I must have told my mum about 70 times. She told me to shut after 60” Gabrielle Cruse, 7WY.
“The best bit was when Kjartan cut a Christmas card and put 10 people inside it.” Eleanor O’Connor, 7AS.
“It showed me a new side of maths.” Taran Linden, 7BA.
“I really enjoyed it. The best bit for me was when he said there were 29 lines in TWENTY NINE!” Hannah Nyathi, 7RR.
“I think the best bits were Sarpinski’s and Pascal’s triangles, as it made A-level material understandable for a hall of year 7s.” Harry Thompson, 7RR.
“I loved it and you are very talented. (The best part was when I got chose to do a trick.)” Holly Murphy, 7GC.
