St Hilda’s is given 4 robots by PASCH!
Students are learning how to build and program a robot, thanks to the generosity of the PASCH network in cooperation with Goethe Institut, who has given St Hilda’s 4 Eve robots.
The program has been designed by the Fraunhofer-Institut in Munich, with the aim of generating interest amongst young women for careers in STEM and Technology, where females are seriously under-represented.
St Hilda’s robotics programme started in Diversity week, when a group of students from Years 9 and 10 built a robot from scratch! They have also started to learn the German vocabulary required to program their robot in our next session. The workshop was conducted by Mrs. Williams, Mrs James and Mrs Boyland, all of whom attended a training course at Goethe Institut, London recently.
