A fantastic year for St Hilda’s College
What a fantastic year for St Hilda’s College! Especially pleasing due to the many changes to the courses and the increase in difficulty of the examinations! Our class of 2019 has bettered the results from 2018 across all of the measures and our vocational courses have the very highest average grade of a Distinction*! Nearly a third of all grades are A*, A or B and almost 50% of students gained at least 1 A*, A or B!
We had a lovely Results Day with the vast majority of students securing their first place university! With UCAS Track, many students actually know if they have got into their first choice before they pick up their A Level grades, but seeing the smiles on their faces was priceless! Their courses vary widely from Medicine, Pharmacy, and Architecture to Engineering and Neuroscience!
Many Liverpool students choose to study in Liverpool as we are blessed with many excellent universities in the region. However, there is a growing trend for our young people to spread their wings and move to new locations. Bristol, Durham, Nottingham and Sheffield, to name but a few.
Wherever they study, we are sure that they will be really successful!
Of our 23 courses. 20 had 100% pass rate. Students of Art, English Language, English Literature and German gained on average a grade higher than their targets, which is phenomenal! Our targets are really aspirational for our students, so this makes this achievement even more impressive!
To our class of 2019, we are so proud of you. Even though you are ‘leaving’ us, you remain part of the St Hilda’s family. We wish you ever success and cannot wait to hear about your course, apprenticeships and jobs when you join us for your Celebration Evening.
To the St Hilda’s staff, thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to our students. I know that you are also incredibly proud of the students and their results and it makes your hard work worthwhile! Thank you for joining us today for Results Day.
We are looking forward to welcoming a record number of students in September into Year 12 and welcoming back our wonderful new Year 13!
