Child Protection Advice/Guidance

chool has been advised by the Cyber Safety Team within the Local Authority that the Musical.ly App is increasingly coming to their attention therefore I wanted to pass on a summary of their concerns so that you can make a judgement about the app if your son/daughter has access to it.

A colleague reports that;

“We have dealt with about 6-8 jobs involving Musical.ly within the past 6 months.  It certainly appears to be an application that paedophiles are looking to exploit as the main users of Musical.ly are children, aged 8-12 years old.”

The good news is that they are very co-operative with properly channelled law enforcement requests for information about ‘suspect users’.
As with most things ‘internet’ it’s not the app. Itself that is the problem but a selection of the users abusing its facilities.
