My German Adventure
Earlier this year, I was fortunate enough to be selected for a two week language and speaking course in Ortenburg, Germany. On the 14th July, I travelled to Heathrow Airport and jetted off to Munich with 11 other pupils from all around England. We went on wonderful excursions, experienced a traditional German school and participated in a language course, and got a taste for Bavarian food and way of life. I particularly enjoyed going to Königssee, a Bavarian National Park where we admired the scenery and interviewed some German people about what they think of their country. It was a fun day, despite being chased by vicious ducks! I also thoroughly enjoyed my visits to Salzburg in Austria, and to the Allianz Arena, home of FC Bayern Munich, as I am a huge football fan. The arena exceeded my expectations and I was very happy that even though the tour was in German, I could still understand most of what was being said, and I even knew the answer to some of the questions.
I was devastated when it was time for my German adventure to come to an end, as Ortenburg was such a beautiful place, and I had such an amazing time and met so many new friends. I would thoroughly recommend this course to anyone who loves German and wants to have an unforgettable journey, experience a wonderful culture and make friends for life.
