Athletics
The St Hilda’s indoor athletics teams were outstanding on Tuesday in the first round of the LSSP athletics competition. All teams finished 1st or 2nd and qualified for the city finals and one of our year 8 girls Ifetijesu Olayoe jumped the 5th highest vertical jump in the country for her age group. Congratulations to all the athletes who took part.

Year 7 girls – Mia White, Evie Corrigan, Lara Bratherton, Faidra Pappgianni, Gabriella Cruse, Holly Murphy, Ella Raley Williams, Jessica Pindar, Katie Pescaglia.
Year 8 girls – Grace McLoughlin, Clara Gutteridge-Tuso, Andrea Ellinas, Kirsten Grini, Ifetijesu Olayoe, Isobel Blakemore-Clark, Angel Tomlinson, Holly Richards.
Netball
Commiserations to the year 9, 10 and 11 netball teams who were defeated by The Blue Coat School on Wednesday. The year 10 team put in the strongest performance and are determined to beat Blue Coat in the city tournament next month. Player of the match for year 11 was Martha Collins, year 10 Eva Richardson and year 9 Lydia Mason.

11a team: Emily Buckley, Constantina Neophytou, Heather Rowlandson, Rebecca Murphy, Olivia Hengler, Martha Collins, Nihal Matana.
Table tennis
Table tennis key stage 4 boys and girls.

B – Ronan Brady, Leo James, Isaac Butland, Ethan Davies.
C – Georgia Norris, Hollie Windrow, Winnie Yu, Martha Small
Congratulations to all the students who played in the key stage 4 table tennis on Thursday 18th January. The boys were playing up for their age group and the girls managed to defeat the boys’ teams from Broadgreen and Childwall. The A team have qualified for the city finals.

Year 8 A boys Merseyside Cup Game v SFX – postponed due to waterlogged pitches.
