St Hilda’s is the first in Liverpool to introduce the Red Box Stop Period Poverty

The Red Box Project is an initiative that quietly ensures that no young woman misses out on her education because of her period. We are 100% community driven and run by women around the UK. We place constantly stocked Red Boxes of sanitary wear in schools for young women to access, aiming to reach those who may not be able to afford these vital items.

The Fawcett Society is the UK’s leading charity campaigning for gender equality  and women’s rights. Fawcett Merseyside are committed to ending period poverty. We strongly believe that no girl should be held back because of their period. We will be acting as The Red Box Project co ordinators in the south Liverpool area.

All girls in St Hilda’s on FSM with less than 95% attendance will receive free sanitary products, if and when they need them.  There are posters in all toilets stating where they can get assistance from.
