‘Take over Day’ Walker Art Gallery

On Saturday 10th June the Art Department took part in a special event at the Walker Art Gallery. St. Hilda’s held a Take Over Day. In collaboration with the Arts Council Collection our Year 10 and 12 Artists had the fantastic opportunity to create their own artwork in response to the ‘Transparency’ exhibition then curate and display their work alongside professional artists. Miriam Wong and Olivia Agate from year 9 came to help for the day, as did Abigail Oakes from Year 12. Special recognition should go to Yasmin Marrow from year 12, Niamh Tam from year 10 and Holly Affleck Evans from year 7 who helped out and also were interviewed on camera by the Arts Council representative.

They each received a goody bag designed by local artist Laura-Kate Chapman. Well done to everyone who took part!
